Overseas Mission

As part of our outreach we support families and
organisations who are working overseas to share
the Gospel in practical and humanitarian ways.

Meet the Martins

Reuben and Katie Martin are part of the BMS World

Mission Team and are working with a small but rapidly
growing church in Rouen, France. Here is an extract from
their latest newsletter.

“Thank you for praying for us this past month - we have seen God answering many of those prayers. 2 members of our youth group have asked for baptism, 5 people have made a re-committment to follow Jesus, 3 people have asked to become members of the church and 6-7 others have started attending or re-attending our services. God is good. On top of that our upgrade of the building has begun. The church entrance hall (which will form the inside section of our café) has been decorated vibrantly - 2 walls yellow, 2 walls mauve and doors and woodwork a kind of jade colour. (Sounds horrible but trust me it rocks!)”.

They are also setting aside a prayer room within the church so that constant
intercession for the local area and the wider world can be offered.

Send a Cow

As a church we regularly raise funds for the Send a Cow project. Send a Cow is a Christian charity that enables poor farmers in Africa to become self-reliant by providing them with livestock, training and advice. They work with some of the most vulnerable groups in Africa, including children orphaned by war, families affected by AIDS, and disabled people. Visit the Send a Cow website at www.sendacow.org.uk

Christian Aid

We also support Christian Aid, the agency of UK churches working overseas in the worlds most desperate places. They work wherever the need is greatest – irrespective of religion or race. Because they believe in strengthening people to find their own solutions to the problems they face, the agency support local organisations, which are best placed to understand local needs. They also give help on the ground through 16 overseas offices. To learn more of their work visit the Christian Aid website www.christianaid.org.uk
