Tarporley Baptist & Methodist Church operates a small camping site at Brassey Green in the heart of rural Cheshire. It is the home of the original Baptist chapel which has now been been converted to provide the basic facilities of kitchen, toilets and a hall that will seat up to 40 people.
Being very quiet and safe it is ideal for small church groups, youth clubs, cub and scout packs etc, and will accommodate tents and caravans, but with no electric hook-ups.
The camping area is flat and approached by a narrow secluded track opening out into a one acre field protected by boundary trees and offering lovely views. Nestled under Beeston Castle it’s an ideal spot for exploring this part of Cheshire. There are numerous walks and trails and the Shady Oak pub and restaurant is only a 10 minute wander along a country lane.
There are many tourist attractions in the area and the site is only 3 kms from the delightful village of Tarporley with it’s shops and restaurants. The historic city of Chester is just 20 minutes drive away.
The camp site is open from Easter until October every year. The maximum number that it can accommodate is forty. Leaders of children's groups must ensure that all child care legislation is adhered to. Visitors are asked to arrange their own insurances and accept responsibility for all breakages.
Brassey Green is situated on the Tiverton/Huxley B Road (SJ 527607 Sheet 117 OS 1:50000, CW6 9UG) 3.2 km from Tarporley.
